We are pleased to announce we have achieved certification under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) for biomass systems, and are now an approved installer for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme.

MCS certification is a recognised quality standard when undertaking small-scale installations for homeowners and buildings used for businesses, in accordance with the Renewable Energy Consumer Code (RECC). The code is designed to protect domestic and small business consumers when purchasing or installing small-scale renewable energy systems.

In addition to achieving MCS certification, Reheat is now an approved installer under the UK Government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS). This means eligible customers can now access grants of £5,000 towards the cost of replacing their old fossil fuel heating systems with a modern, efficient biomass system installed by Reheat. The scheme is targeted at homeowners and buildings used for businesses, with a maximum installation capacity up to 45kWth (kilowatt-thermal).

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme is part of the UK’s wider strategy to reduce carbon emissions and accelerate the transition to low-carbon heating. By becoming a BUS-approved installer, Reheat is helping homeowners and businesses take advantage of financial support while contributing to a low carbon future.

For those interested in the scheme, Reheat can assess your eligibility, talk you through suitable technology options, and of course undertake the installation. Simply contact our team to discover more.

For more information about the grant, visit the UK Government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme webpage.

Boiler Upgrade Scheme for Biomass - Good to know

Biomass boiler BUS grants are available if your property is off the gas grid and in a rural location, and you have an emissions certificate showing polluting emissions are kept to a minimum. Most new build properties are not eligible for the grant. Our team will undertake a full eligibility check on your behalf.

The BUS can only be accessed when using MCS Certified installers. This ensures that your purchase is protected by the Renewable Energy Consumer Code.
